As Zhaojun leaves her homeland, she is filled with mixed feelings: her reluctance to leave her beloved motherland, her hatred for the corrupt officials, and her remorse of a weak regime that cannot protect a single girl. The Han Emperor and officials, in fear of the barbarians, have to free her. "Lady Zhaojun Going Beyond the Great Wall" describes Lady Zhaojun who is victimized by the corrupt courtier and is to leave the Central Plains of Han to marry a barbarian prince. She is a prized pupil of the famous Peking Opera artist, Guan Sushuang and a winner of the Plum Blossom Award. She has a handsome persona, a broad-rang voice and is recognized as one of the rare talents in performing both military and civil female roles. Hou Danmei, who played the role of Mu Guiying, is a National Class One Performer and the Director of the Peking Opera Troupe of Guiyang City. Thus the army of the Yang ladies manages to vanquish the enemy and return home in victory. The general, Mu Guiying, twice enters the Gourd Valley and finds out the location of the plank way. Although his grandmother was much grieved by the loss and is already a hundred years' old, decides to lead their army to fight the enemy. Yang Zongbao is killed when he tries to enter the Gourd Valley by taking a very dangerous plank way. "Scouting in the Valley from Lady Generals of the Yang Family" is another story from the saga of the Yang family of valiant generals. She has a brilliant voice and solid groundwork in her art and was a winner of the Orchid Award for Outstanding Budding Artists at the 1st National Kunqu Opera Exchange for Young Performers of Kunqu Opera.
She is an expressive young performer with the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe. Gu Haohao is the main cast in "Hu Village". Fighting valiantly, Sanniang captures Wang Ying and injures Li Kui in the battle but is finally captured by Lin Chong. So the rebels join forces in annihilating the Hu Village. When the rebel heroes of Liangshan, led by Song Jiang, have succeeded in capturing the Zhu Village, they become anxious that Zhu Biao's fiancee, Hu Sanniang, may come to his rescue by bringing her men from nearby Hu Village. "Hu Village" is an episode extracted from "The Water Margin". They are all National Class performers with unique characters and rich stage experience. Four stories include "Hu Village", "Scouting in the Valley from Lady Generals of the Yang Family", "Lady Zhaojun Going Beyond the Great Wall" and "Blue Rock Hill" and are played by actors of Shanghai Peking Opera Theatre, Peking Opera Theatre of Shenyang and Peking Opera Troupe of Guiyang City.
